Hang In There!

Happy Sunday afternoon, my friends! Oh my gosh, we are having such strong winds, I was at Michael's earlier and my car door practically flew off the hinges!!! But the sun is out, and it looks so pretty until you hit the wind!!! But it's still better than that "s" word that you have to shovel, and we aren't having those horrible tornadoes, so I guess all is good!

My card today is a simple one, but oh, I need about four more! Sometimes it seems that you have a lot of family and friends who could use some cheering up all at the same time. I made this one and now have to decide who to send it to!

Tilda is from the Raising the Ceiling collection as is the bow she's hanging from! I embossed the back panel with the hearts folder from Cuttlebug. The panel she's on is embossed with the score-pal and then the border is stickled. The design paper is from Colorbok, Pastel Garden. It really worked well with the colors I used on Tilda. She is colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol, except for the face and hands, that's prismacolor markers. I stamped the bow twice and cut out the "loops" for a dimensional look. The main panel is also raised up with pop dots. I even did the inside!! Whoo-hoo... not really fancy, but I love the look!

So that's my card and I'm entering it in the following two challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I love reading your thoughts on my work!

Magnolia-licious Extravaganza-Category 1

Well, it's raining and a bit yucky out today, so I decided to think Spring and make a card for the Magnolia-licious Extravaganza contest! I've had this image colored since last Spring, it was my first try at coloring with distress inks and it was FUN!! My card is pretty simple, I used Spellbinders scalloped ovals and embossed the bottom one with Swiss Dots. I added some stickles around the scallops on the top layer, stamped some little swirls in yellow and chalked the edges pink. The flower panel is embossed with a folder from Sizzix. I got the lovely lace at a local vintage shop, added some tiny pearls to it. I also stickled up some of the flowers to add extra sparkle! The narrow ribbon was white to begin with, I couldn't find the right shade of pink in all my hundreds of ribbons, so I spritzed it with glimmer mist!! I added a little vintage button to the bow. I know it's not as fancy or special as most of the cards entered, but I do like it and think it will go to my Mom for Easter. She's always taking care of her "chicks", meaning us kids! and it just reminds me of her for some reason!

You can find all of the most adorable Maggies (and Edwins!) at Diana's wonderful store... http://www.magnoliastamps.us.com

And make sure to check out all the wonderful entries at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog...

I hope you enjoyed my card, and if you didn't get a chance to see my egg entry for category #3, it's in the post below!! I love that you came to visit!!!

My Tilda Easter Egg Project! Loads of Pictures!!

Good Saturday Afternoon!! This is going to have a ton of pictures! My son did the photography for me and I loved all of them and couldn't decide, so there are shots from all angles!! LOL!! This is my project for the Magnolia-licious Highlites Easter Contest! It's category #3, anything but a card! I know I saw a few eggs already, but I was working so hard that I had to enter mine as well! This contest has brought out the "eggers" in all of us!! haha! I used to decorate real blown eggs and that's what came to mind as soon as the challenge went up! So I found a paper mache egg at Hobby Lobby and used my exacto knife to cut it! Yeah, they aren't paper all the way through, most of it is plastic!!!! I painted the outside a sweet pink and the inside and the shaker box a pretty blue. The whole outside of the egg is glittered in chunky glitter to give the "sugary" effect! The fence is from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge from Cricut, I added tiny bows from crochet thread! I used a little branch off one of my trees in the yard, painted it white and added little pearls and bows, it's hard to see in the pictures... there's also a little bunny hiding in the background as well!! Oh and the inside is also glittered up!!! There's a paper doily on the top of the box and a tulle ruffle "framing" the bottom of the egg! The box itself is covered with Easter paper, I'm sorry, but I don't know who made it, it was in my stash! The roses are Prima, the others are from my flower stash, and I added flower svaworski crystals to the centers for some extra bling! I colored all the Tildas and Edwin with prismacolor pencils and gamsol, their skin is colored with prismacolor markers! I think that's it! I hope you enjoy my project, it's so sweet sitting in my living room and Matthew and Kaitlyn love the little chocolate eggs hiding inside!!! Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!!! The stamps should be available from http://www.magnilia-licious.blogspot.com/ . If they are out of stock, I'm sure Diana can order them! Be sure to check out all the fabulous creations at http://www.magnilia-licioushighlites.blogspot.com/ They are out of this world!! Hugs, Teri
