A Maggie Purse!

Happy October!!! Gosh, I think I just skipped right over September! This year is just flying by... and I'm sure 2013 will as well!!! My daughter is engaged!! I'm so excited and we'll be doing a lot of planning over the next few months! They are getting married on September 14, 2013! We're in the process of designing the wedding invitations, it's going to be so much fun! I'm glad she's open to my making them!!!
Anyway, over at the Cricut Message Board I was involved in our monthly Maggie swap.... September was to alter/create a purse for your partner and this is what I came up with! Rhonda asked for a vintage look, I almost hated giving it up!!!!!
Have a wonderful day and come back to visit soon!!!

The Altered "E"

Good Morning!! I have another Maggie creation for you today! Our latest challenge on the Cricut board was to alter a letter for our swap partner. Mine chose an "E" and likes shabby chic, yay!! So, this is what I came up with!! It's so funny how you start with an idea and end up in a totally different direction!!! Tilda with Little Gift was originally going to be on the letter itself, down in the lower, left corner, but as I was making it, it just looked so blah!!! So.... out came the thinking cap and this is the final project!!! Tilda, of course, is colored with the prismacolor pencils, except for the skin, that's done with prismacolor markers. I found some gorgeous, vintage lace at a local shop and added vintage buttons as well!  Hope you like it!!!! Click on the image for a larger view!
Have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Teri

A Welcome "Home" Banner

Oh my goodness! Two posts in a week, be still my heart!!! I totally forgot that I could post this banner I made, since it has arrived at its destination already! Again, for a swap on the Cricut Message Boards! My partner is very much into her family and home, so I thought instead of her name, I'd make something for the house! It was fun to do and I think turned out pretty nice. The chipboard banner pieces were from Maya Road, a banner "album" kit, but I love how sturdy it makes the finished item! Maggie and cottage were colored with prismacolor pencils and all the little embellies were stuff I had in my stash! Hope you like it!! And thanks for all the sweet comments, they really make my day!!!
Hugs,
Teri

A Maggie Treasure Tin

Another month almost gone.... it's hard to believe that school is starting in two days and my "baby" grandson is going into second grade!!! I think he's ready for some structure again, although I'm going to miss having him around all day like crazy!! It's Meet the Teacher night tonight, so he's excited about that!
My project  today has been sitting on my desk for over a month!!! My niece had a little girl four months ago and I still haven't mailed this out to her!!!! It's a little tin to keep baby "treasures", keepsakes from the hospital, pictures, etc. There's even a little envelope on the inside lid for a lock of hair. Callie is the cutest, little baby, I haven't had a chance to get my hands on her yet, but I can't wait!!!! My image is Tilda with Blue Blanket colored with Prismacolor pencils... On the inside lid is Tilda, too, but gosh, for the life of me I can't remember her name... I'll get back with it!
The card is for them, too. It's Tilda's Family, I love this stamp!!!! It's just perfect for a first baby card!!! I got to use one of my little embroidered flower appliques that my friend, Deb, found for me!!! She got a huge bag filled with lots and lots of vintage ones, I am in heaven!!! There are a lot of pictures!!!! Had to get all sides!!
Enjoy the rest of the month!! Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Teri

Tilda's Been Framed!!

Wow, once again it's been a long time between posts, it's just been a really busy summer so far, so even though I am still creating projects, it's just so hard to find the time to sit and post!!!! But.. here is one of my latest projects for the Cricut Message Board swap... we were to create a shadowbox frame from a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock, what fun!! My partner should get hers today, so I think I'm okay posting what I made. She loves to quilt as well as scrapbooking, so I decided to incorporate that into the box! I used the wedding couple to signify her and her husband and the M is for their last name. I wrapped scraps of fabric for the "bolts" and wrapped twine around the spools. Vintage buttons and some lace finished it up! I hope she likes it! Tilda and Edwin are colored with prismacolor markers and pencils! Hope you like it!!

An Altered Cigar Box

Has it really been almost two months since I last posted anything???!! What a bad blogger I am! There's really no excuse except that life gets in the way sometimes. We've been busy with the grandkids T-ball and Coach Pitch ball games, what fun that is to watch!!! And just life in general... anyway, I thought I would show the cigar box I altered for a Cricut Message Board Swap! My partner, Dalia, wanted a Paris theme and pink and black. I found this paper that was perfect!!! When I went to cover the box, the lid tore off, so I decided to make it a lift off top!! I used the left over knob I had from my art room cupboards!! I can't remember the name of the Maggie I used, maybe, Birdcage Tilda??? I colored her with my prismacolor markers and pencils as usual! On the inside I used a cut out from the paper for the "clock" face. Spools wrapped in paper are used for the feet! It really was a fun project and I hope Dalia liked it!!!!

Have a great day!

The Art Room continued!

Here are my "in progress" pictures, followed by pretty much done pictures! And after looking at them, I need to take some better photos! Maybe I'll do that tomorrow! These don't even show the final paint done... You can see where we had lots of patching to do!! It used to be my son's bedroom and let me tell you.... he had a dart board up and I think I covered a million holes!!!! But I am so happy with it all, everything has a spot!!! It was worth the 12 year wait!!!!!
Hugs,
Teri

The New Art Room!!!

Happy Sunday!! I'm just getting around to finally posting the pictures of my wonderful new art room!!!!! This first post will be the befores! And the way they are posted... well, the first three are after I emptied the room into the living room, office and the kitchen!! Yikes!! There was sooo much stuff!!! I really, really purged and it felt wonderful!!! Lots went to the elementary school art teacher, lots went to the Goodwill and lots went to the trash!!! I was ruthless!! But it was so worth it in the end!!! The other pictures are from various times... but always a great big mess! Keep in mind that this is a little 9 x 9 bedroom... I had really packed it in!!!
More in the next blog that will show the progress....
Hugs,
Teri
