Pretty in Pink...

Me again with a card for the Just Magnolia challenge... this time it's Pink in honor of breast cancer awareness! Please make sure you get your mammograms!!!! I hate all cancers and this one has hit very close to home with a very good friend, it's so frustrating!!! I chose to make a tri-fold shutter card, I haven't done one for so long and they are lots of fun! My Maggie is colored with prisma pencils and gamsol, using the prismacolor markers for her skin. The flowers are Prima, the little heart charm and ribbon I had in my stash. The background paper is actually a beautiful shade of green, it photographed more of a grey color. I used sentiments from Magnolia, The Angel Company and Inkadinkado. And the pink patterned paper is Heidi Swapp! Her dress ribbon, flower and shoes are glittered up... they also show up better in real life! Hope you all enjoy my new creation and make sure to take care of YOU!!!!
Hugs,
Teri

Thank You, My Friend!

Hey all!!! I got back from a fabulous five days in North Carolina with my best friend and we had a blast!! It rained a couple of the days, but it didn't stop us from hitting the antique stores and flea markets... we just needed more time!!! LOL!! I so enjoyed myself and wanted to send Pat a special thank you card! I just love this little Maggie, so sweet!!! The lace is some that I found at one of the antique stores... love it!! The ledger paper behind Tilda is from an old book, I love that look, too! She is colored with my prismacolor pencils and the face and arms with the markers! The border is a Martha Stewart punch... I think it's going to be a new favorite!!! Vintage buttons... the inside is pretty plain... lots of room for a note to her! I didn't use flowers because it needs to be mailed and I thought I'd better keep it kind of flat! Hope you like it, thanks for all the sweet comments that you leave, they mean so much to me!!!
Hugs,
Teri

Missed It!!!

Happy Saturday!! Oh my gosh, what a weather change from last weekend!! It is gorgeous, I have all the windows open... fresh air... yay!!! My knee is giving me HUGE problems, though, so I'm moving very slowly... my lovely daughter-in-law even bought me a cane! It's got a cute pattern, so I'm using it! heehee! I leave for a five day getaway with one of my best friends, we're going to North Carolina, the Pinehurst area, just the two of us... I can't wait! It will be so great to just talk, shop and relax! We do everything on a slower pace, so I think I'll be fine! Anyway, this is a long overdue card for another friend... her birthday was in September... I can't believe I forgot it! The colors I used are sooo bright for me, I don't normally do them... but I guess it turned out okay. I had Tilda all colored up for a long time... of course, my usual prismacolor pencils. I hope the idea comes across.... the party's over and all that!! Thanks for looking, off to clean my house... slowly... and enjoy the weather!!! Hope it's beautiful where you are and thank you so much for stopping by!!!!!
Hugs,
Teri

Best Wishes Always....

What a cold, dreary weekend we've had here. It's the kind of chill that gets in your bones and just won't leave!! We had a wedding reception to go to today, Bill's cousin's son got married in Florida last week and the party for us Ohio folks was today... they sure had different weather!! Haha! I made them this card and also made the box to put it in... I followed the sketch by Jane over at the Magnolia and hAnglar sTanglar Challenge Blog... which means I'm also entering it there~along with the ABC Challenge of Anything Goes. I really loved following the sketch, I don't normally use them, but it made it so much easier to put the card together, so thank you, Jane!!! I used my prismacolor pencils, as usual, with the markers for the face and arms. The paper is Deja Views wedding collection, I got it at a shop that is going out of business, it was packaged with all the matching papers, so easy to work with!! Anyway, here's to you, Bob and Sarah! Hope you all enjoy my little creation!! And sorry for the way this is posting...I am soo blog challenged!!!!!

A new Fall Wreath and a cute kid!!

Happy October!! (almost) My nieces have all been going crazy making fabulous wreaths for Fall, Halloween, etc. and so I decided to make one for my door! This is a really, really quick project: get a 6 year old to rip fabric strips, wrap around a styrofoam wreath, pin in place, cut out some flowers and leaves, stitch a little, add some buttons and raffia bows and call it a day!! Not as fancy as some of theirs, but I'll hang it on my door and feel very accomplished!! Haha!! I also had to show you this picture of my little Kaitlyn in her fashionista outfit!! I just thought she looked extra cute that day!! That's it for tonight, I have a wedding card to photograph and will post it tomorrow! Have a great Saturday!

Happy Birthday, Friend!

Happy Thursday!! It is a gorgeous Fall day, the temperature is perfect for working outside... too bad my knee hurts like it does, I guess I'll just have to stay in and stamp a while!! Haha!! I have a birthday card to share today and I'm entering it in the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! The colors are teal, brown and orange... I have to admit, at first I was like, ewww... but then when I started playing with the colors... I really like them together!!! My paper is from DCWV, Nana's Kitchen... love that stack~~ I colored little Miss Maggie with prismacolors and gamsol, her skin is done with the prismacolor markers. The tag is from Melissa Frances, part of a package I got from Diana's store~they are soooo cute!!! Added a little butterfly charm, some flowers and a crochet thread bow! The inside is pretty simple and I did make an envelope to match! I've always loved having the card and envie go together, but it seems like I don't do it all the time!! I hope wherever you are, that the weather is beautiful and your day is special!!! Till next time~

My Maggie Heart Box!

Hello, my friends!! I have a special, little project to show you today! This will also go to my friend, who is getting the card in the post below. I'm thinking of filling it with some pretty glass pebbles and tucking a votive candle inside! Just a little relaxation giftie!! I found the chipboard heart box for .50... such a bargain!! Covered it with some gorgeous double sided paper from Hobby Lobby... I believe it is from the Girls Paperie. The top is outlined with blue twine, I used some crochet type lace, paper flowers, a pearl flower button for the flowers. The chipboard frame is again, painted white and glittered, with a scrap from the floral side of the paper underneath it! Then, this sweet little Maggie is popped on top! She is Tilda with Small Gift... I love her!!! I punched a scalloped border and added tiny pearls for the lip of the box. Then, painted some wooden balls ivory and dotted them with pink paint for the feet of the box! So what do you think???Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,

Teri

Grateful for you!

One of our very good friends will be going through a rough six weeks or so and I want to make her days special, so I have this card ready to send! It's a Penny Black image colored with prismacolor pencils and markers. The chipboard accents were painted white and coated with glitter. I added a few little paper roses and silk ribbon. Lots of glitter on her shoes and flowers! The inside has a sweet quote that I love, also from Penny Black! Have a super day!

Celebrate!

Happy September 1st!! This summer has just flown by, but I must admit, I'm ready for some Fall-ish weather! I cleaned out my closet and drawers yesterday and have lots of cute things for cooler weather... I cetainly don't want cold and snow, though!!! I made this Celebrate card for my awesome friend, Deb!!! Her birthday was in August, but I felt like the "patriotic" theme was fitting for the image! I hand wrote "celebrate", made a little pinwheel and look at her little birthday candle! The flame is just some fishing lure stuff that I had tucked away, it reminded me of a candle! I colored Tilda with prismacolor pencils and gamsol, except for her face and skin, that's with the prismacolor markers. The inside is pretty plain with just a journaling spot for a special message! I glued some punched stars on the doily and stickled them up for a bit more bling! Back soon with another card, this time a Penny Black image!

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Teri

Where has the summer gone???

Seriously, I can not believe that I've totally ignored this blog for the entire summer!!!! There has been a lot going on... mostly just every day life... enjoying the grandkids... enjoying the summer.... busy times... but I think I'm ready for a slower pace now...
I had a wonderful couple of days with my Mom and sisters visiting some wineries. We went to Geneva-on-the-Lake~ so beautiful! It was a bittersweet time, one year has passed since we lost my Dad, and we decided to get away and enjoy each other! I don't drink wine, but did have a glass of something sweet on the last night... and I may just become a convert!! LOL!!!
Matthew starts first grade tomorrow!! I can not believe it!! I'm so excited for him, but after 6 years of almost every day with him, I am going to be a little lost! Good thing I still have Kaitlyn here!! Time is passing waaaayyyy too quickly!!
Here is a little banner I made a while back... it was for a friend's daughter who was having a little girl, it's so girly, I loved it and best of all, so did she!!! Hope you enjoy it!
I have some more cards to share and will be doing that soon!!! Hope you all enjoyed the summer, and got to spend some special times with the people you love...
Many hugs,
Teri

Little Village

Good Morning!! Oh my gosh, we have gone from cold, rainy days to hot, hot, hot!!! I have always said I wanted warm weather, but I do NOT want hot!! Give me a nice 70-75 degrees and a slight breeze... sigh... wishful thinking!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and gave thanks to our magnificant troops and veterans! I have three nephews in the military and my Dad was in WW2, so I have great respect for our brave men and women!!! We went to our camper this weekend and while it was a fun time, the flies were horrible and loved biting me, Kaitlyn and Matthew!! Now we are all itchy and red... yuck.

I wanted to show you some little houses I've been working on! I got the idea from Beatriz Jennings blog http://www.iralamija.blogspot.com She makes the sweetest little ones, hers are about 1/2" - 3" I think, mine are from 3"-5"... Bill cut them for me from scraps we had around, I love the randomness of them... so cute!! I made a set for my sister and my friend for their birthdays, the initials are last names and the numbers are for their house number!! They are a blast to make and I'm planning on a bunch for a craft show this fall that my friend is having!!! I have a lot of ideas... Christmas, Fall... and I do have two I made for me that are shabby chic... just haven't gotten to take a pic yet... when I do, I'll show you those... too sweet!! Well, Matthew has field day today so I need to get over to the school, hopefully the heat will hold off a little for the morning!!! Have a wonderful day!!!!

Hugs,

Teri
